Visual Method⭐Romain

I've been taking French lessons with Romain on and off for a couple of years now. When it comes to what makes him special or different, several things come to mind. I really appreciate Romain’s dedication to explaining everyday conversational language and slang terminology. Learning these aspects on one's own can be challenging. Besides being a teacher, Romain is also a musician who willingly shares his love of music with those interested. Thanks to him, I've curated an extensive playlist of fabulous French songs. There is no way that I would’ve discovered all of those songs (of such excellent taste!) on my own. Although we haven’t used this approach in a while, I remember that when we first started lessons, we utilized his visual system. For beginners or for those who feel a bit rusty, I believe that this system provides a great way to get started. It certainly helped me gain more confidence in speaking.

Every lesson so far has been exceptional. I know many teachers on Italki get 5 star reviews because thats the way things have gone here, but Romain, is in a league of his own. His preparation and years of hard work to build his visual teaching platform, makes for a very organized and productive lesson each time. As I wrote in a previous review, this is a much better approach for beginners and intermediates than just trying to have an open ended discussion about whatever comes up.

Prof Romaine has a practical approach to speak about what ever is on your mind, or what you are experiencing or if you want to talk about current events. We build the vocabulary around the topic. He often uses French music examples to enhance the learning experience. I’ve learned a lot from Prof Romaine and keep renewing my pkg so that I can keep learning.

Romain is a wonderful instructor! We just had our first beginner lesson for my child, 9 years old -- so fun, challenging, and engaging.

A fantastic start on my journey to learning French

Prof Romaine always keeps lessons interesting and current. We have discussed a range of subjects and often have music or other themes for background or to prompt discussion. There is a certain richness in vocabulary and rhythm which is helpful in improving language skills.
