I'm Iris, living in Jiaxing, China. I graduated from VU Amsterdam. Cross-cultural communication is one of the courses of my major. I believe I can talk with you barrier-free, no matter what country you are from.
I'm a travel and photography enthusiast and have been to many places, possibly yours! But most importantly, I love learning and sharing languages with people from different cultural backgrounds.
I have plenty of experience in teaching Chinese. When I was studying abroad, I helped my classmates from different countries to pass the HSK. Now I am teaching some ethnic Chinese and foreign children to learn Chinese in my spare time.

During my study abroad, I made Chinese learning plans for my classmates from Holland, Germany, the US, and other countries, and taught them Chinese in my spare time, including listening, speaking, reading, and writing. With my help, some of my friends have successfully passed the HSK, and some have been crazy about Chinese culture.
After returning to China, I still insist on teaching children Chinese. My lessons are interesting and can stimulate the enthusiasm and initiative of children, so many Dutch children have been learning Chinese from me.

My teaching style is mainly skill type. The lesson will be carried out based on structure and procedure, including questions, explanations, practices, etc., which will be properly matched. I will help you learn in a guiding way, and will take into account your psychological characteristics and receptivity. Even if you make mistakes, I won't embarrass you. 老师 is very helpful and very patient in teaching the tones, correcting the pronunciation and gives meaningful feedback on what approach we could do for learning the language. 谢谢！

Iris is a great teacher. She explains everything coherently at your level and doesn't leave you behind. We're able to cover a lot of topics and learn in a conversational manner that makes you feel like you're talking with a friend. Highly recommend!

My first full lesson with Iris and it went really well. I was able to recall words from our trial lesson and was given the chance to learn new words today.
We were able to discuss my learning goals and have decided to extend our lesson time.

I had a great first lesson with Iris. She had a good understanding of my goals and was able to quickly work out my level of Mandarin and work the lesson to that level.
She was very encouraging and helpful when I made mistakes and helped me correct them.
I really enjoyed the lesson and have booked in more sessions.
