I still remember the first day of my Spanish class with Santiago; I only knew a couple of words in Spanish such as Hola, Gracias, and 'Café con leche y croissan, por favor'. His passion toward teaching has walked me through the steps to practice speaking Spanish. His patience and quick wit make me feel comfortable even when I make some mistakes. Besides his affability and encouragement, I appreciate him being attentive in every single class with meticulous attention to my mistakes. For me, the best part of his class is that he does not give me a right answer immediately, but nudges me to guess the correct one so that I can feel like ‘I Accomplished Something Great!’ I want to express my sincere gratitude to you, Santiago and I am psyched for the next class! ¡Hasta pronto!

After a couple months of having to take a break from studying Spanish (because life got busy), I was super happy to get back to my lessons with Santiago. My first lesson back today, he helped provide realistic dialogues to help me review what I remember and help gauge what we need to work on moving forward as a beginner. Santiago always provides a fun, positive energy to our lessons, which helps motivates me. Santiago's method of providing examples of "real life communication" combined with grammar concepts, is unlike any other tutor that I have worked with. It's so much fun, that even when he checks to see if I understand correctly, I don't feel frustrated or like I'm being "tested" :D. Santiago will patiently help guide me to THINK and APPLY as needed, to help me understand the concepts. I've experienced a LOT of tutors on Italki (from learning French and now Spanish), and I can honestly say Santiago is one of the BEST and a favourite tutor of mine! ¡Muchas gracias Santiago!

Mr Herrera manages to find many different and always interesting ways to teach Spanish. He always seems interested in what we are doing and the hour flies by. Top notch.
