housekeeper vs stay-at-home mom How do we call properly, whether male or female, those who are in marriage/relationship and keep their house clean? In general, I learned that housekeepings are the workers who do the cleaning in hotels. On the basis of this, I might think 'housekeeper' might not be suitable. I am simply lost. I also ask myself if the terminology has been discerned and modified to severals in terms of people's viewpoints. Is there anyone who could explain to me in a neutral perspective? I am not asking about controversies, but simply about several terms used often by native speakers and the nuances they make

If you say housekeeper it sounds like a hired person who cleans a home or hotel. To refer to the person in a married couple who does the majority of the house work, homemaker would be a better term to describe them.
