One of my hobbies is cars. I like to think that I always try to take good care of my car to keep it in good condition for a long time. I recently came across an interesting article online called Driver’s Habits and wanted to share it here.
The article mentions a common bad habit among drivers that can damage their beloved cars without them realizing it:
1. Ignoring strange noises from the engine or transmission – You might want to take your car to a mechanic to prevent potential issues.
2. Filling up the tank only after the low fuel warning light comes on – Impurities accumulate at the bottom of the tank while your car is off. These can enter the fuel pump and filter, leading to problems.
3. Overfilling the fuel tank – This can cause significant damage to the fuel evaporation control system.
4. Excessive braking – Frequent braking wears out brake pads and discs quickly. If possible, use engine braking with a low-speed gear to reduce wear.
5. Sudden braking and acceleration – This increases the risk of accidents. Sudden acceleration consumes more fuel, while abrupt braking puts excessive strain on the braking system.
The key takeaway is that a car’s lifespan strongly depends on the driver’s habits. By improving bad driving habits, you can maintain your beloved car for a long time. I realized that I also need to change some of my own driving habits.
