These are random .. !

you have to use it in this standard order from the right to the left

أ ب ت ث ج ح خ د ذ ر ز س ش ص ض ط ظ ع غ ف ق ك ل م ن ه و ي

or the ABJAD order

أ ب ج د هـ و ز ح ط ي ك ل م ن س ع ف ص ق ر ش ت ث خ ذ ض ظ غ

This are letters not vowels ( as said by youssef ) .. we use TACHKEEL to make them dance and move :P

The order of the letters in the photo is atypical. The typical order starts this way ا ب ت ث etc. (from right to left). You should also note that Arabic letters have different forms depending on their position in a word i.e. different ways of writing depending on whether they occur word-initially, mid-word or word-final.

Hello CEHSeattle, that's good document you find, but you have to know they are only about the letters in Arabic. in Arabic, the letters are all consonants, it has no vowel letter in Arabic. The vowels are as marks, look to them all: َ ً ُ ٌ ِ ٍ ْ , http://arabic.speak7.com/arabic_vowels.htm

This is not methodical ! For these three shapes ء ، ئ ، ؤ belong to the same letter Hamza but in different positions. the shape لا is also a combination of two letters ل+ا alif and lam. Have a look at this http://www.arabic-course.com/images/arabic-alphabet.png
