My Home Town
I was born and raised in a small village surrounded by mountains. Seven years ago, I left my hometown to go university and after I graduated, I got a job in shanghai. In these seven years, I have only spent several days in my home town during the holidays. Sometimes when I have free time, I walk down the street and I can remember lots of things about my village. My little village is hidden deep in the mountains. When I was a little boy, I couldn't imagine how would the world would look without mountains and the different kinds of plants. The leaves and flowers made the mountain beautiful in every season. However, the most interesting place for boys is the stream. When it was summer, all of the boys in the village would get together to swim and catch fish in the stream. I still remember the feeling when I dove deep in the clear cool river and lay on the big white stones to rest. Some of the parents were afraid the stream was dangerous and they forbid their children from going to the stream. Sometimes these parents followed their children, took them home and punished them when they were found playing near the stream. However, none of the boys could resist the entice of the wind from the stream. I went back home with my friend last month for the holidays. He was also born in this village and moved to the city with his family when he was about 10 years old. I took him climbing in the mountains and hiking down the stream but we did not see any boys there. The village is full of old like my parents ,they will never catch their children in the stream any more... (sorry, I don’t understand the very last sentence!)
