"point taken" means to accept something that someone has said. "what's your point" means you're asking someone what it is that they are trying to say or explain. "case in point" means a good explanation of something. "every point along the way" means; for example, we stopped at every point along the way (or at the main destinations, cities, etc). "getting your point across" means to make clear your idea or explanation. You mentioned point away, point up, point down, point over there, (all okay). Some other such as point off, point through, point for, point around, point in, point on, point apart, point along: (Some of these might be used but in context. Some would sound very awkward out of context).
