peg you out on the washing line?
‘Come here, I’ll hutch up a bit.’ Gladys pats the cushion of her chair. James climbs on with her, throwing the thin blanket over both of them. ‘Now, what’s to do ?’
James yawns again. ‘I just can’t sleep.’
‘You can’t fool me. I know there’s something up. Usually I could peg you out on the washing line and you’d go to sleep. What’s to do ? Is it those bad lads again ?’
James nods and looks miserably at the telly. ‘What’s this film ?’
I would like to know what does " peg you out on the washing line" here mean. Thanks.
