How do you use an elder, elders, the elder, the elders?
I'm confused with this usage, the world that mean someone who is older than you. I'm not sure if they are nouns or adjectives.
- The elder = same usage as: the sick, the rich, the poor?
- An elder = same usage as: a man, a woman?
- The elders = same usage as: the men, the women?
- Elders = same usage as: men, women?
Can you please explain this to me and give me examples?
Thank you.
