la telenovela, la serie, la soap opera, la soap drama.
Yann: I saw that your English is intermediate, so I hope it's okay that I answered in English first. "Telenovelas" are generally done in Spanish, and are set up so that it's a very long story, with a beginning and an end. They tend to move quickly, so there is a sort of need to watch it each day. A telenovela might last several months, and then there is an exciting end, just like with a good movie. Telenovelas might come on in the daytime or evening, generally Monday through Friday.
A "series" is something that usually begins a new "story" each week. You can miss a day and it doesn't matter. In general, it's about the same group of people each week, but not necessarily. Many adult series come on just once a week, generally in the evening, once a week. Some series for kids come on each afternoon.
A soap opera is similar to a telenovela (but done in English). However, a soap opera can last for a very long time, as much as 30 years!), and it doesn't move as fast. Some of the characters stay, and some leave the show (they die or move away, in the show). Soap operas generally come on during the day, Monday through Friday.
I don't know what a "soap drama" is. If you are thinking of a drama, that could be like a series or even a movie.
I hope this helps!
