I love learning about how people can become happier, healthier human beings and enjoy talking about it with my students too! My interests are in art, music, education, science, and human psychology. I grew up in West Africa and have lived more than half of my life outside of the United States, including Cote D'Ivoire, France, and Thailand, as well as the United States, in Hawaii, Florida, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Illinois. I also love to travel and have visited many cities around the US and the world. One quirky thing about me is that I don't take many photos during my travels as I tend to enjoy myself so much that I forget to take them!ฉันในฐานะผู้สอน
I am a patient and kind teacher with a great balance of keeping class relaxed and interesting, yet professional. I want my students to feel confident in speaking freely and safe to make mistakes. Studies have shown that feeling calm, interested and happy helps people learn better and remember what they have learned. I have been interested in education and teaching since helping my friends in elementary school get better grades on their tests and projects. I have over 16 years of tutoring students from elementary to graduate studies, mentoring many of my students in writing. I also have about 6 years of experience teaching English as a second language.บทเรียนและรูปแบบการสอนของฉัน
- I want to know what my students' goals and desires are for what THEY want to know and not just what I think they should know. I ask them plenty of questions and we create lessons together based on what would best serve their individual language learning journey.
- I think making and correcting mistakes is critical for learning a language well. I like to allow students to practice self-correction to build their own ability to do so. I also provide corrections with explanations if needed.
- When doing speaking or writing practices, after editing and correcting, I like to help students reword what was said or written. This helps efficiently develop grammar, vocabulary, and fluency skills.สื่อการสอนของฉัน
