I am British with a clear, standard accent. I have provided 8,000 lessons on Italki in the last 9 years, in business/legal English, IELTS, PTE Academic and Core, interview preparation & personal statements. I worked as an English-qualified lawyer for 12 years till 2010. My YouTube channel is @UKlegalenglish I have edited energy market analyses for a European energy utility for the last 8 years. I reached intermediate level in Italian, German, French and Spanish. I am learning Russian and Dutch. I have an academic background in law, philosophy, psychology, and politics. I live in England with my wife and son. I will teach anyone as an equal, irrespective of politics, religion or nation.

I took several classes with Mike for a preparation of an interview language test. He helps me to find my problem and come up with solutions. After several lessons with him, I can feel the change. I highly recommend him if you want to improve your English to a higher level.

Michael is a brilliant teacher who has helped me during my IELTS journey (my first time taker's results are L 8.5, R 8.5, W 7.0, S 7.0). Also, Michael has helped me a lot while working together on my essay mistakes when I applied to top-10 UK universities and to the Chevening Scholarship. I believe Michael is the best English teacher I have ever had!

Michael is a kind, patient, and encouraging teacher who helped me a lot during my preparation for the IELTS-General exam. The result of our writing classes with Michael was a score of 6.5. Moreover, he helped me to improve my IELTS speaking score from 6.5 to 7.0 within just 1.5 months. Michael's IELTS lessons are well-structured and come with comprehensive preparation materials, including detailed instructions on writing all essay and letter types, as well as a framework for organizing your speech and model answers for each part of the speaking section. Additionally, Michael provides valuable insights into what examiners are looking for and what to expect on the exam. He gives you homework to reinforce learning between lessons and detailed feedback on it. I was extremely satisfied with my IELTS preparation with Michael, and I am now working with him to improve my general English skills. I highly recommend Michael as both an IELTS instructor and an English teacher.
