Marianna

It was one of best learning experience in italki :) Maryam is really smart, interesting person and I really enjoy our talk. She was well-prepared for our lesson and she discussed with precisely what I expect from our cooperation. I think she could be a great teacher to ambitious students that really want to boost their language skills and speak Russian on a good level :)

It was a great first lesson with Mariana. After introductions, we watched part of a film, and she was ready to answer all of my questions about the film.

Marianna is a great language tutor for students of the Russian language who speak English and/or Spanish. She helped me review the alphabet before I practiced reading in Russian. After my first lesson today, I was able to recall vocabulary words that I knew once before but had forgotten; I noticed an improvement in my reading skills by the end of the lesson. Marianna is friendly, easy to talk with, and patient with her students. I highly recommend her.

I had today my first lesson with Marianna. She is a very easygoing person and we had a very interesting conversation about my language goals. We spoke in Russian and she made me feel very comfortable while correcting my mistakes and helping with the vocabulary I was missing. I definitely recommend her.

I'm writing this review around seven months after my first lesson with Marianna and I can say that I have thoroughly enjoyed our lessons together. Marianna is a friendly, outgoing tutor. Aside from her native Russian and Romanian, Marianna also speaks some English and Spanish and has traveled across Europe from Spain in the west to Russia in the east; she is knowledgeable and has a fascinating perspective that I enjoy listening to. I'd like to highlight how helpful Marianna has been in teaching me casual, informal, everyday Russian phrases. A lot of Italki tutors use more formal, academic language which isn't always as helpful when, like me, your immediate exposure to Russian is in informal contexts around town. Additionally I appreciate the flexibility that Marianna has exhibited with regard to our lessons. At times I've needed to reschedule our sessions at the last minute and Marianna has never held it against me. I highly recommend studying Russian with Marianna! Спасибо большое!
