I LOVE languages—seriously. I speak Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese, and I’m learning Mandarin Chinese as a 5th language. I graduated from Penn State University in 2021, worked as translation project coordinator, and then moved to Paraguay for a year on a scholarship to help students apply to universities in the U.S.
Something you should know about me is that aside from languages, I have many passions: food (sushi and chocolate specifically), crochet, knitting, weight lifting, running, painting, writing, physics…I could talk about any topic, but I also really enjoy listening. In 2016, I began tutoring English and Spanish on Italki, working with students of all levels, but mostly with intermediate and advanced speakers. In order to boost my students’ conversation and speaking skills, I started an online conversation circle: 5-10 of my students met each other (virtually), became friends, and helped each other as a result. I have run an in-person Portuguese conversation circle in Pittsburgh as well. I am patient, nonjudgemental, and EXCITED to see you reach your language goals with me. I love having fun with my students, and I LOVE teaching grammar and vocabulary. I challenge my students, but guide them through those challenges so they can grow.บทเรียนและรูปแบบการสอนของฉัน
My lessons are structured based on the students’ level, interests, and reading/writing/speaking/listening skills.
My lessons include:
conversation practice
a grammar and vocabulary lesson
listening/reading skills with an article or video
Time for questions and reflections
I always encourage my students and correct with kindness.
Each lesson comes with a Google Doc or Word Doc that the student can download and save to study later. I also work with textbooks for grammar and vocabulary.
Homework is assigned as requested and tailored to the student's needs.
There is room for flexibility!

When I was upset with my English I did another class with teacher Amanda and I was happy. She motivates me, encourages me to want to learn, to want to improve my English, plus an excellent teacher is a great person with a huge heart. Very fun, very intelligent and nice. I always love the lessons. Today we could talk a little more about a controversial subject: animal rights. We were able to analyze arguments, quotes, etc. Very helpful.

Amanda is a professional teacher. She majored in Spanish and studied a lot languages. So, she has her own teaching skill.
And I think she is so deligent. She prepared lesson very well.
Also, she has good personality. I think it is important things when I talk with other people. So, I recommend her as your english teacher.

lessons with you are like well thought and organized workout at the gym. Nothing is left to chance. I tell you where I want to get and you do all your best to help me get there, knowing that I'll do my best as well. Even when I'm tired, our "workouts" are always great!
