I'm from Rainy England! I have a degree in Sociology from the University of Kent and a TEFL certificate. What I love most is learning new things. I read a lot, especially about history, philosophy, politics, culture and religion, but I enjoy talking about many other topics. I have travelled to many different countries and have lived in two foreign countries, China and Romania. I'm also a language learner, focusing mainly on Spanish and Romanian. I play the guitar and write my own songs. I love to walk in wide open spaces with beautiful views. I live near the sea so I often walk to the coast to stare at the sea and daydream! I'm a very experienced teacher, and have taught people from many different nationalities, of various age groups and levels of ability, and in both classes and one-on-one. I can talk about pretty much anything! I have taught a Russian opera singer, a Swedish horse trainer, a Spanish professional poker player, an Italian wine expert, a Korean oil executive, several NATO employees, and many many computer programmers!
I care a lot about all my students and do my best to help them progress with their English.

I will correct ALL of your mistakes and give quick and simple explanations when necessary. My lessons always have a specific focus, but they will feel like a relaxed conversation. I always try to suggest new and more native ways to express things. My test and interview preparation lessons are more structured. I have a great deal of experience teaching IELTS preparation. Tom is an excellent teacher who knows how to listen and guide students. He perfectly explains the new material, supporting it with real-life examples. During the first trial lesson I managed to outline an action plan of studying and methods for its implementation, learned some grammar rules and worked on my pronunciation. The lesson left only positive impressions. I'll definitely continue studying with Tom.
