I am a Japanese language teacher with over 18 years of Japanese teaching experience in Japan and Korea. I have worked in educational facilities such as Japanese language schools, a vocational training school, and foreign-owned enterprises.
My area of expertise includes preparing for Japanese language exams such as JLPT, EJU, and BJT, as well as supporting study abroad and job opportunities in Japan. However, I am also able to teach Japanese to beginners or those new to the language, using English or Korean as needed.

Currently, I teach Japanese on italki and also hold the position of CEO at an online Japanese education service. I have been providing instruction in Japanese, primarily focusing on preparing students for exams and assisting them in the application process for universities in Japan. Additionally, I work as a freelance translator, translating from Korean to Japanese for movies, games, web marketing sites, etc. My other roles include creating tests (NAT-TEST, JLPT mock tests) and instructing over 60 Japanese language teacher trainees in Japanese language teaching methods.บทเรียนและรูปแบบการสอนของฉัน
While using a general textbook + a vocabulary textbook and a grammar textbook, we can role-play various situations. With lots of conversation practice, I will teach you to speak with natural Japanese expressions.

There are no words to describe how wonderful of a teacher Rie-sensei is. She respects your study pace and study methods, but also pushes you to your potential. She is extremely supportive and friendly, but will be honest when you're not living up to your potential. It is thanks to her, and her holding me accountable, that I feel ok about the upcoming JLPT. I don't think I would have had the motivation to prepare and study otherwise. Even beyond the JLPT, I'm looking forward to learning more from Rie-sensei!!

Rie-sensei est une excellente professeur qui sait donner confiance à ses élèves. Elle est très compétente, efficace, bienveillante et attentionnée. J'ai essayé plusieurs profs de japonais sur italki, mais Rie-sensei était la meilleure qui a su s'adapter à mes besoins. En peu de temps, je sens que mon niveau a progressé de manière significative. C'est un vrai plaisir de travailler avec elle. Je la recommande vivement !

As I'm sure many can relate, I've wanted and tried to study Japanese on my own for the past decade, memorizing hiragana and katakana only to give up once "live got too busy." Eventually, I decided to really commit by finding a tutor, and I was so blessed and lucky to meet Tanaka-sensei. I cannot stress enough how helpful her classes have been! She is great at accommodating my needs and planning classes to proceed at my pace. I highly recommend her to anyone who needs an experienced, intelligent teacher to gently guide them while still actually teaching you new things every class in a structured manner (as someone with ADHD, this part has been especially crucial haha).
저는 지난 10년 동안 혼자서 일본어를 독학하려고 했지만 매번
히라가나와 가타카나만 외우다가 삶이 바빠지면 계속 포기하는 것을 반복해왔어요. 결국 “아 이러다 진짜 일본어 못 배우겠다” 싶어서 아예 과외 선생님을 찾아 같이 공부하는 것을 선택했어요. 이 과정에 다나카 선생님을 만난 것은 정말 신의 한 수라고 봐도 될 것 같아요! 선생님은 제 레벨과 부족한 부분들에 맞춰 수업을 진행하셔서 기초를 단단하게 다진 뒤 새로운 것들을 빠르게 배울 수 있었어요. 저와 비슷한 상황인 학생들한테도 꼭!! 선생님을 추천드리고 싶네요!
