Hello everyone,
I'm Mari! I grew up in the northeast of Brazil and I speak Portuguese and English. One of the things that I enjoy the most in life is traveling and exploring this beautiful world. So far I've managed to visit 20 countries and I was very lucky to live in 4 of them. Learning about new cultures, trying different cuisines and making new connections is what really moves me. I also enjoy spending time at home with my husband and my cat. We love cooking and playing board games. Something else I really passionate about is the environment and sustainable practices. I have more than 10 years of classroom experience and over all these years I have taught English to people of all ages and all levels. I prefer to work with pre-intermediate / intermediate adult learners and also very young children. I have a certificate in teaching from Cambridge University, a diploma in English teaching from Trinity College London I have lived and taught English in 4 different countries: Brazil, the U.S., Russia and Hong Kong. I absolutely LOVE teaching grammar and pronunciation and my students always get great results from our lessons together.

I plan lessons that match my students' learning styles, preferences and goals. For example, if my student wants to learn English to travel, I will plan lessons about the vocabulary, structures and skills they will need in travel-related situations. In my conversation classes I prefer to focus on communication and fluency rather than 'speaking perfectly'. If you're looking to refine your pronunciation or grammar and make fewer mistakes, our lessons will be organized in the following way: 1 - teacher's explanation 2 - practice 3 - correction of mistakes 4 - extra practice.
