Konnichiwa! I’m a Tokyo-born Japanese. I've been a tutor for over 4 years since and I love getting to know people and helping them improve the language!

For absolute beginners (A0-A1), I use textbooks and some videos to get thing started. I blend English to explain details as well.
For the intermediate level (A2-B1), I mostly speak in Japanese for you to get used to the sound and improve understanding. We can focus on conversation or we can use textbooks and practice certain usage of grammar.

In the first lesson, we usually cover:
1) Introduction of ourselves
👉 basic info, hobbies, work, school
👉Why you are studying Japanese
2) How we have the lesson?
👉How often do you want me to correct the grammar and pronunciation?
👉how much do we use Kanji/Katakana during our lesson?
3) General conversation to kick-start🚀
👉Topics in life, news, media, etc
👉Role play using phrases and grammars you learned recently
4) For the next lesson
👉Do you want homework or not?
👉Do we use Google Docs or any thing else?

I was thinking these days that I still have a long journey in my Japanese skills, but having this classes help a lot.
As I said to my friend yesterday, I don't know if I'll become fluent in Japanese in the future, but the me right now, even making a lot of mistakes, is VERY happy having classes with Hanami sensei. She's really like a friend to me now, and it's always fun to learn more and chat about life in the meanwhile. 💙✨

はなみさんすごいです。She does a great job getting you into conversation and is really easy to talk to. はなみさん also really helps break down sentences well to hear them, then repeat them with her to better learn natural pronunciation and speech.

I really enjoyed my trial lesson with Hanami先生！She's really easy to talk to, and gave me great corrections, as well as suggesting new useful phrases. She also asked what I wanted to create a plan for lessons that would work or me!
