❗❗❗PLEASE READ EVERYTHING IN THE LESSON DESCRIPTION BEFORE BOOKING A LESSON.❗❗❗ IMPORTANT: I DON'T TEACH KIDS UNDER 10 YEARS OLD, ADVANCED STUDENTS, & GROUP CLASSES. Hi, I'm Mila! I enjoy interacting with people from various countries as it enables me to learn a lot about different cultures. I'm into portrait photography, photo editing, crocheting, sightseeing and travelling. When I lived in China, I visited Hangzhou, Nanjing, Shanghai and Changzhou. I've also been to Vietnam where I stayed in Nha Trang for a week. In my free time, I usually watch movies (Hollywood, Bollywood and Turkish), TV series and documentaries. Among TV series, my favorites are Friends and The Big Bang Theory.

I graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in secondary education major in English. After passing the licensure exam for teachers in the Philippines, I earned a 120-hour certificate in TESOL and a 30-hour certificate in Phonology for English Language Teaching. I have over 6 years of experience in teaching English to foreign students which started months before I graduated. I have been teaching foreign students with various English proficiency levels (from beginners to intermediates) and different age groups (from children to senior adults). I have also experienced teaching abroad. I taught one-on-one and group classes at an English center in Suzhou, China for 2 years.

I offer free talk, conversational classes and structured classes. I understand that learning a language can be quite challenging, so I always strive to make my classes enjoyable and engaging. Given that many students lack ample opportunities to practice their target language, I usually allow for more student-talking time. I am open to suggestions. In fact, I would love to hear suggestions from students as they can undoubtedly assist me in enhancing the learning experience. For example, if you want me to provide corrections for every error you commit, please feel free to tell me.

According to the official 2022 summary, Mila is my favorite teacher and we've had 1,185 minutes of English lessons together. I believe she deserves a review. If I had to pick a single word to describe Mila, it would be stability. Mila is always available on Sundays and has never raised her lesson fee, and has a never-ending question set on PPT that we can rely on when we run out of topics. She's also very easy to talk to. I think it's because I've been answering her questions from the PPT, so I feel comfortable being honest with her. Sometimes, our lessons feel like counseling, which is great for getting my thoughts out and having someone listen. One thing to note is that Mila is strict about pronunciation. I always make sure to read the questions carefully and pronounce them accurately, knowing she's paying attention. She was the one who pointed out my incorrect pronunciation of "managed" (I used to say "ma-ni-jid"). Now, I'm proud to say that I pronounce it correctly as "ma-nijd.”
