Hi everyone! Is there anyone who speaks Portuguese (Brazil) and would like to learn or practise Russian? We could do a language tandem :)

Though we have talked about air pollution for many years, there are still a lot of people around the world don't care about it. Thid reminds me of a great Chinese saying that goes "only a person bumps into a wall, then he can go back". It means that someone don't realize that they are just making some mistakes, others try to prevent them, but failed.They keep doing wrong things until they get publishments from their mistakes. The same thing some people still do for air pollution. They drive cars every day and never think that the vehicle exhaust does cause air pollution. If you tell them the truth, they even take some deep breaths to show that they are healthy. It's really hard to change someone's mind. They just care about themselves. They can't see the bad results due to air pollution. In that case, if you ask them to join a car-free day activity, they might think that you are silly. It won't appeal to them, but if the law tells them to reduce driving to protect the environment, they would carefully think about the relation between vehicles and air pollution, then keep the law.

We know what is good, and even though we know what's good, we still do wrong. We know it is good to recycle but we don't do it, we know cars produce carbon dioxide emissions and we still buy cars and use them every day. So, the point is that we know how to face climate change but we do not take action, and then the question is, what are we waiting for taking action?

I know it sounds boring but I would like to write a book about ethics in education. We live in a society where everything we learn is just a medium to find a better job and we don't see education as an end. But education is something that has its own value and we should see it that way.

Unfortunately, all my efforts proved futile. The situation was not only financially distressing but also emotionally taxing, as I felt helpless and deceived.At this point, I began to seek professional help. (I want to change the "has" into the "have" ??) From the #3 , I guess: the "they" and the "them" here both refer to the "others" here, Is my guess correct?
