Zara is dragging Bobby into the market. He is like a stubborn little boy. Her eyes are beaming with enthusiasm and his are downcast with despair. 

The market is out of this world! There are countless numbers of things Zara has never seen before. 

As the two friends walk down the street, Zara points at everything in amazement while Bobby  dismisses them as boring and ordinary. 

Arriving at a food stall, Zara wants to experience everything. “And what are these fragrant things?” 

“Those are herbs…” 

“And this spicy thing?”

“Garlic… umm, where are you from?” 

“And what about this? It looks like the roots of a plant!” 

“That’s ginger, and, yes, they are the roots. Are you from outside of China?”

Zara is overwhelmed with positive emotion and disregards Bobby’s questions. 

The two friends arrive at an animal stall. It has horses, cows, chickens and pigs for sale. Zara touches all the animals, smelling and patting them. “These creatures are beautiful!” 

But Bobby doesn’t get it. He’s never met someone so strange in his life. He’s actually starting to feel irritated by Zara’s joy.

“Look, I have to get going soon… You know, my important task. So, is there anything I can do for you?” 

Zara stuffs a sugar-coated figurine into Bobby’s mouth. “Try this!” 

Bobby reluctantly chews and a little smile appears on his face. But then it disappears and he looks annoyed.

Zara runs off down the street, touching all the lovely silks and picking up all the metal tools.

Il podcast ”Comme se dice?” nasce da un’idea di Vincenzo Luca Forte e Iginia Barretta, insegnanti di Napoletano e altre lingue sulla piattaforma Italki. 
Il podcast è dedicato al dialetto napoletano e si rivolge principalmente a chi vuole impararlo o è interessato ad approfondire la sua conoscenza. Ogni puntata affronta a rotazione diversi temi riguardanti il Napoletano, che possono spaziare dalla grammatica alla cultura, dalla fonetica alla letteratura, dalla canzone al cinema, e si svolge sempre in presenza di alcuni studenti di napoletano di Luca e Iginia. La final de la Eurocopa 2024 es este domingo. ¡Y España se ha hecho un hueco en ella! El domingo competiremos por el primer puesto, o bien con Inglaterra, o con Países Bajos, dependiendo quien sea el ganador del otro partido de la semifinal. Por eso he pensado que hoy es un buen día para comentar algunas expresiones españolas que tienen su origen en este deporte.

Aviator Races to Photograph the World's Glaciers
Garrett Fisher is traveling the world in his little blue-white "Super Cub" airplane, as he tries to document every remaining glacier on Earth.

The 41-year-old Fisher does it for a simple reason: "Because I love them."

However, he does it for another purpose too — the climate is changing, and the planet's glaciers are melting. Fisher believes documenting, archiving, and remembering these changes is important.

According to Fisher, the melting glaciers are the first indication that we're losing something because of climate change. "In 100 or 200 years, most of them will be gone," he says.

That's why Fisher is building an archive of his glacier photos. He believes any record he makes before the glaciers melt could be very valuable to future generations.

In 2021, Fisher started the Global Glacier Initiative, an organization to support and show his work, and he plans to open his archive to the public for research.

Many glaciers are hard to get to or photograph — so Fisher has to make some dangerous journeys. Why does he do it?

He's looking for the perfect picture; one so beautiful it can make people and policymakers act. And if one image isn't enough, then maybe a whole archive will make people come and look, get close and pay attention.

"We can live without [glaciers]. We will live without them," Fisher says. "However, it hurts us to lose them."
