What's the difference between 'crackle into static' and 'crackle into life'? 'Crackle into static' and 'Crackle into life' seem having the same function and the meaning in these sentences. But, is there any difference between 'crackle into static' and 'crackle into life'? 1.My car radio crackled into static. 2.The radio crackled into life.

Crackling into static would imply that you can't understand what is on the radio and can't get a station to come in clearly - there is only static. Crackling into life would tell me that while there is some static, I can bring in a station OK and listen.
