"How did it taste to you?" Would usually be asking if it was good or bad while "What did it taste like?" Is more asking for a comparison to something else. How did it taste? It was good What did that taste like? It tasted similar to chicken. I hope this was helpful. Good luck learning more.

It means more "Did it taste good?" This is because the expected answer is 'delicious', 'good', 'so-so', 'awful' or some answer along those lines. "What did it taste like?" would most likely bring an answer of "It tasted like chicken."
