How can I express 'can't be bothered' in Chinese? I want to be able to say 'can't be bothered' in Chinese. When I have asked friends before they just come up with 不想, but in English, can't be bothered is different to 'not wanting' to. For example we could say, 'I really want to go, but I just can't be bothered', or something like, 'I want to help, but I can't be bothered'. How can I express this idea of 'can't be bothered' in Chinese? Maybe 没心 would be okay? Some ideas I had for the above sentences were, 我很想去,但我真的没心了。(I really want to go, but I just can't be bothered.) 我想帮助,但我没心去做。(I want to help, but I just can't be bothered.) How would you express 'can't be bothered'?Other times, we may just say cant/couldn't be bothered. For example. Her dad couldn't be bothered to see her.

懒得 or 嫌麻烦 It means "not do sth because one considers it to be too much trouble" 我是想去, 但我懒得去了. 我想帮忙, 但嫌麻烦所以没帮. "没心" doesn't make sense.

How about 力不从心? for example 我很想帮忙,但是我力不从心。

if it's a problem of capability, i think 有心无力 is a good translation. because 有心无力 means "I want to" but "I am no able to" How about translating it to 懒得?

I really want to go, but I just can't be bothered. 我很想去,但是懒得动。 I want to help, but I just can't be bothered. 我很想帮忙,但是闲麻烦。 我很想帮忙,但是没这个心。 this one sounds weird, bc either way you don't really want to help, so... it is a little paradoxical. Unless its some kinda of euphemism you want to say instead.

Using the examples you gave, what about something like this: I really want to go, but I just can't be bothered. 我很想去,但是太麻烦了。 I want to help, but I just can't be bothered. 我想帮助,可是太麻烦了。 I think 麻烦 conveys the fact that doing something is enough of a hassle that you don't want to do it, but it could be stronger in meaning than what you're aiming for. (And my grammar may be incorrect!)
