卷并: a tortilla or a burrito? In my daughther´s Chinese educational video, they call tortillas as卷并, but baidu search gives me the pictures of burritoes. Burritoes are not the same as tortillas. In order to prepare a burrito, we need a tortilla and we wrap different ingredients such as eggs, meat, vegetables into a tortilla. So, how do you call a burrito and what is the name for a tortilla? Thank you!

Over here we call a burrito 墨西哥薄 /饼/卷/. A tortilla 墨西哥半月脆卷, A tamale is 墨西哥玉米粽. As others had pointed out, these are just the equivalent names to similar things the Chinese have.

tortilla in Spain means a round thing made of eggs, basically an omelette 煎蛋饼, maybe with other things added. In South American Spanish, a tortilla may be a pancake made of flour. That is then a burrito, you can eat it alone, or wrap things in it. 卷饼肯定是burrito, a pancake with something wrapped in it. In English I would translate 卷饼 as 'a filled pancake roll' burro is Honduran Spanish for a pancake made of flour. You can wrap things in it. In burrito the suffix -ito means little, as in carro, carrito

hello Vika, happy to see you again. firstly, little attention here, it's not 卷并, it's 卷饼.(饼bing三声means food, 并四声 is a adv. usually used in pattern 并不是,并且.....) And back to your question, actually burrito and tortilla are not traditional Chinese food, so maybe we call it in different ways , I'm not sure I'm right this time, I cheched the Internet, and here's what I found: Burrito 墨西哥卷饼,玉米煎饼 Tortilla 墨西哥玉米饼

卷饼(no卷并)is more like burrito, 卷 means like sth been wrapped. You can call tortilla 面饼. Anyway, there is no synonyms for burrito or tortilla in chinese since we dont have exactly same food.
