Phrasal verbs related to the word "point" ? Could you tell me what the following phrasal verbs mean in American English? ・point out (I understand the primary meaning of this phrase is to say, for example, mistakes or something, as in "He pointed out the flaw of the plan A, so they decided to go with the plan B") ・point to ・point at Are there more "point"-related phrasal verbs that are commonly used in everyday conversations? (point away? point off? point down? point up? point through? point over? point for? point around? point on? point in? point across? point apart? point along?)

Point out X = draw my attention to X (or an example of X) Point to X = use your finger to indicate X, so that I can identify it Point at - this almost means the same as "point to", but is more likely to be used in connection with a person rather than a thing. In 99.9999% of English-speaking countries, pointing AT somebody is considered to be extremely bad mannered and rude. Example: Child: Hey Dad - look at that big fat man with the ridiculous hat!!! Father: Don't point at him ... that's very rude!

"point taken" means to accept something that someone has said. "what's your point" means you're asking someone what it is that they are trying to say or explain. "case in point" means a good explanation of something. "every point along the way" means; for example, we stopped at every point along the way (or at the main destinations, cities, etc). "getting your point across" means to make clear your idea or explanation. You mentioned point away, point up, point down, point over there, (all okay). Some other such as point off, point through, point for, point around, point in, point on, point apart, point along: (Some of these might be used but in context. Some would sound very awkward out of context).
