Could anyone explain this sentence for me? " One benefit of being in a family operation is inclusion in discussions that might otherwise be kept separate."

This is a difficult sentence. It's basically saying that, if you are in this family operation, you will be included in discussions, or you will be a part of discussions. You can discuss things with the other people there. If you are not in this family operation, then you may not be included in discussions. Therefore, being in the family operation is a good thing.

I’m guessing that “family operation” here means “family-run business/company”. If that is the correct context, the sentence means that a family member in a family-run business is more likely to be included in discussions about the business (like financial decisions, strategy decisions, etc.) than would a regular (non-family member) employee in a regular (non-family run) business. The family cares what everyone thinks, but many businesses don’t care what their employees think.

I think it means if you are with all your family member then you will be in their family issues which might be kept secret .if you are separated from them.
