NightMary's answer is good. One thing - "flora and fauna" is not idiomatic. An idiomatic expression is one whose meaning cannot be derived from the combined meaning of it's individual elements. The words flora and fauna are not used often - they are derived from Latin. However the meaning of the phrase is clear if you know the meaning of the individual words. An old (bad) joke goes like this: #1: "I'm going to that land to study the flora and fauna." #2: "Oh, you know two girls there?"
