The term "pick up" in that context means to resume the activity.

Context? . Probably "continue this conversation". Great. I have to stop now, I have a meeting in 5. Let's pick this up again, next week. See you Monday. Possibly, "continue this conversation with a faster tempo". As in "pick up the pace" Great. That's enough for now. Today has made good progress, but we need to go a bit faster to be done on time. Let's pick it up a bit next meeting. . maybe "go get something from somewhere". It's arrived in stores. Let's pick it up next week" :)

Continue with the topic, or theme from where we left off at our next meeting/lesson/etc. Imagine a book that you put a bookmark in, so you can return to the (roughly) same place.
