What’s the function of “cosmos”? Can I use it anywhere instead of “world”? What about “universe”?

Hello Nika The word "cosmos" is use in general for "intersideral space" The word "world" is use more often to talk about our planet and our people. The word "Universe" is use for "astronomy" with a capital letter and also use to express "the origin of life" But "cosmos" and "universe" are synonyms.

Hello Nika, " World" as in "the whole world" refers to inhabitants of the planet earth. It could mean also the people generally, the public.(In this sense it is neither interchangeable with "cosmos" nor "universe".) but the world means also "the universe or cosmos, everything in existence". The cosmos is the universe considered as an ordered system. The universe refers to all existing matter, space and energy or could mean human beings collectively. Their interchangeability depends on the context. If you say : " The world expands beyond our limited knowledge of it" Here it could be interchanged with "universe". "The ordered system of the world represents accurate measurements." Here you could interchange "cosmos" with "world".
