Is there a Japanese saying equivalent to ' Drown my/your sorrows'? Is there a Japanese saying equivalent to ' Drown my/your sorrows'? Drown my sorrows, means that someone will drink a lot of alcohol because they feel upset, it imply's that the pain will disappear under the drink, they wont feel it any more if they drink enough. we can say it about ourself or others, ie: I am going to drown my sorrows. He spent the evening drowning his sorrows.
