Hello! My name is Hiroki.
I am a native Japanese speaker and a qualified Japanese teacher.
My major at university was agriculture and I have worked in rice genetic research.
I love learning languages and have studied English for a long time.
I am currently studying Chinese as well.
I have been to Canada for a short study abroad program and can speak a little English.

I completed the 420-hour course to become a Japanese language teacher and passed the certification test in 2020.
Currently, in addition to italki, I teach Japanese at elementary schools and companies.
I have a lot of teaching experience, especially in business conversation and for children.
I have also taught English grammar to Japanese children.

You do not need to have a textbook for introductory/beginner lessons and free conversation lessons. If you have a textbook you would like to use or a topic you would like to discuss, please contact me by message. The topic of the first lesson is self-introduction.

It's always fun learning and practicing Japanese with Hiroki-san. We follow the textbook, but in a way where Hiroki-san uses the topics to ask questions to create deeper conversations where I can really practice what I know and use concepts learned in the lesson. I'm looking forward to improving my Japanese even more with Hiroki-san.

Hiroki San is a truly a remarkable conversation teacher. I would not be were I am at today without her help. I am very grateful that when we speak she is entirely focused on helping me improve my Japanese, and not just going through the motions as a job. She is amazing. I would strongly recommend trying her for a class.

Truly every lesson with Hiroki San is like having a conversation with a friend. Very relaxed, open, and entertaining. Because she is such a great conversation partner my Japanese has improved tremendously with her as my teacher.
