I am a native English speaker from Newcastle, United Kingdom. I have been tutoring non-native speakers in English for over five years now and I obtained my CELTA teaching qualification in 2019. I have lots of experience teaching both online and in-person and love teaching in both settings. I have just returned to italki after 2 years of English teaching in South Korea. Outside of teaching I love to dance, cook and travel. I am also spending lots of my time learning a second language myself as I think this is a great skill to have. I have chosen to learn French! As a teacher I am relaxed but organised. I like to make students feel comfortable as soon as possible, and I like to make sure that they are happy during all stages of the lesson. I will push you in your learning, as I don't think you can learn well if you stay completely within your comfort zone! My lessons are always tailored around the student as I think this is the most beneficial format. Of course, I will use my experience to understand when a student needs help in a particular area, however, I would like to reach the specific aims that the student has in their language learning and I will tailor lessons to achieve them. I will use a variety of different resources depending on the students learning styles and preferences. Each student is different and it is important to plan for this!Öğretim materyallerim

CELTA - Cambridge English - 2021I achieved my CELTA certificate through Apollo English in Hanoi, Vietnam. It was a four week course in which we had to complete a total of 6 observed teaching hours (split into eight 45 minute lessons) alongside completing 4 assignments which involved analysing language, while also finding references that help to teach that language to non-native speakers.

I had 10 wonderful English classes to improve my writing with Jessica. I have done classes in italki but never ever seen a teacher preparing a presentation for classes. I quite like this approach, keep doing that. I hope I can have more classes next year.

I had have 10 classes with Jessica and it is a really helpful and enjoyable journey of learning English. I booked her class as soon as I had a trial class with her, as she was so professional, patient, and longing to help.
She is more than a teacher but friend. As a teacher, she always writes down your needs, trying her best to tailor individual teaching plan. Within these 10 classes, she helped me to find out my pronunciation mistake which I didn’t notice in the daily life. And she helps me summarize some specific articulation problem, accompanying me to practice them more systematically. In addition, she offer some tips and practice which are really helpful.
I think it’s beyond my expectation.
Highly recommended!
