I taught English at a college for three years and since six years ago, I've worked as a freelance English tutor. I don't have a lot of experiences in Korean teaching, but my background of growing up in a bilingual environment and a learner of four languages have indeed enabled me to acquire lots of skills in language teaching. And the Korean teaching on italki during the year of 2022 proved that I was right. I had helped students explore different topics, expressions and grammar.
3년간 대학에서, 6년간 프리랜서로 영어를 가르쳐왔습니다. 한국어와 중국어, 두개의 언어에 노출된 환경에서 자라고, 영어와 독일어를 배운 경험은 제가 외국어를 가르치는데 있어 아주 큰 도움을 주었습니다.

For my CONVERSATION classes, I normally do free conversations featuring a certain topic we choose.
For the other type of class, I normally choose a book or design a certain outline for the student and we will follow that throughout our learning, which actually requires at least ten classes if we want to achieve a certain goal.
Plus, if you already learned some Chinese, we can also utilize that part in our Korean class.

Yan knows how to make learning a challenging language interesting and enjoyable. During the lesson we practiced pronunciation and reading/ recognizing simple words. I am already looking forward to our next lesson.

Yan is a great listener, and I enjoy talking to her every time. Since taking Yan’s class, my English level has improved a lot. Thanks to her supervision, I got a good score on the TOEIC test. Yan is more like my friend, who has helped me a lot both in English learning and life.
