SHOYA

I have been taking lesson with Shoya for more than 1 year. Originally, I wanted to find someone who could help me improve my Japanese conversational ability, plus go beyond casual topics, and be able to talk about more higher-level topics that any adult with a university degree should be able to discuss at a non-discern level. Through conversation with Shoya, he has helped me gain confidence in my own conversational ability, as well as be able to hold a conversation with a native speaker. Though I know that I still have a long way to go, but I can't help but thanks Shoya enough for his patience to sit through listening to my sometimes incomprehensible Japanese, but as well as the diligence to keep me on my toes with new words, vocabularies, and phrases that are highly useful. I highly recommend Shoya to any Japanese language learners who wishes to improve on their conversational ability with a native speaker.

The amount I learn every lesson is unprecedented and amazing. I always feel like I gain a lot after my lessons and I recommend booking a lesson 100%.

I always enjoy my lessons with Shoya! He's super easy to talk to and he's great at keeping the conversation flowing. Our conversations are always fun and interesting. He's able to explain things very well and give examples when I need help. He's also very encouraging and gives good advice. I definitely feel more confident in my speaking after our lessons. I have been chatting with Shoya since March of 2024 almost weekly. Its been a pleasure catching up about our weeks and learning new words and more about Japanese culture in Osaka. I use Shoya as a gauge at how well I can follow conversation because sometimes he forgets how fast he can speak, but through the year he has helped me realized that my listening skills have improved. Sensei is patient and helpful. I enjoy taking lessons and look forward to practicing Japanese with him. He’s very friendly and explains concepts well.
