Ruri T

I look forward to my lessons with Ruri 先生。She presents and explains new grammar clearly and creatively. I appreciate the power points she creates to teach new material. It's been super helpful. My weakest point is my speaking ability, but Ruri 先生 is so positive and supportive that I feel encouraged to keep trying.

As always, I'm really glad that I have Ruri 先生 to guide me in my journey of learning Japanese. I think that there's been a lot in the last chapter that we've covered in Genki II that I might have gotten frustrated with or skimmed over if I had just been going over it myself. Having here guidance has been really important because it not only makes the material engaging but when there's a little trickiness or if I'm having trouble with some of the material, I can rely on her to fill in the gaps for me. In our speaking practice today, we talked about かんこうち and しゃかいかけんがく. They were both funs topic to talk about and I think that it's another example of how we get to share a bit about culture as well. Even though she is always prepared for our speaking practice, I really appreciate it how she's always encouraging me to find things that I'm interested in speaking about. I'm really looking forward to our next lesson!

I love taking classes with Ruri because she tailors each one to your needs and cares about your concerns a lot. She always wants to make sure you're comfortable with the lesson plan (and even homework)! As always, a really good lesson with Ruri 💚

I had a lot of fun during my lesson today with Ruri 先生。For speaking practice, we got to talk about theme parks. It turns out that I actually have a lot to say about theme parks and it was really fun talk about them and learn some new vocabulary as well. I feel really grateful for Ruri 先生´s patience with me when I make some mistakes when I'm speaking and for always having a topic prepared even when I have nothing in mind. For our grammar session today, we continued studying Lesson 15 in Genki II. I'm glad that we split this section about めいししゅうしょく into the last two lessons because initially it felt a little hard for me. I'm really grateful that I had Ruri 先生 to guide me through it because she had a really nice way of helping me practice and putting it together. いつもありがとうございました！

As always, I'm very grateful to be able to learn Japanese from Ruri 先生。When we do speaking practice, it always feels like there's something we can talk about or share that gives me a chance to apply what I'm learning. Even when I don't have a specific topic in mind, Ruri 先生 is always prepared and I have a lot of fun speaking, learning about Japanese culture and sharing with her about American culture. I feel like I'm always able to speak and with her guidance am improving bit by bit. Today for grammar practice we covered Genki II Lesson 15, Part 4 about Using Sentences to Qualify Nouns. I feel like in this chapter it feels like one of the harder sections. I'm really grateful for guidance from Ruri 先生。Just looking at the textbook, it definitely feels like there's some nuances missing that I wouldn't get without her. I'm looking forward to our next class to continue learning!

Today, Ruri 先生 and I started off our lesson with a speaking practice exercise that I wanted to try. I've recently been watching 深夜食堂 and I have really enjoyed the stories as well as the listening practice that I get from it. In class, we started with me giving a summary of an episode that I liked, which was the タンメん episode. I had a lot of fun doing this and felt like I was able to use the grammar that we had been studying and Ruri 先生 helped guide me when I needed help with vocabulary and clarifying some thoughts. I appreciate her encouragement when I get in a little over my head with longer or more complicated expressions, and I feel like with the notes that she left me I'll have a lot to study! I look forward to doing this again. After our speaking practice, we went over the next section in Genki II, covering ておく. It was fun learning how to combine it with other grammar that we've been learning. I always enjoy my time going through the exercise with Ruri 先生、ありがとうございました！
