Hi! My name is Alejandro and I am from Venezuela. I lived in Barcelona, Spain, for over 8 years, and in Leeds, UK, for over 9 years, and I am now living in Berlin, where I teach Spanish at the Instituto Cervantes.
I enjoy reading, writing, going to the cinema, the theatre, hiking, running, cooking, and learning languages online, so I definitely know what it is like to be a student trying to find an online teacher who fits my needs.Öğretmen Olarak Ben
I have over eight years of experience teaching Spanish in UK universities (Warwick, Leeds, York, and Nottingham), online, and at the Instituto Cervantes.
I have a PhD in Spanish Language and Literature from the University of Warwick (UK), a Postgraduate in Teaching and Learning from the University of Warwick, and a Bachelor's degree in Spanish Language and Literature from the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona (Spain). My teaching practice is mainly student-centred, communicative, task-based, and inductive, as I find this is helpful in keeping students engaged and effectively acquiring the language. However, I also integrate techniques from different teaching methods and linguistic approaches such as flipped classroom, generative and cognitive grammar, systemic-functional grammar, blended learning, and a wide range of learning and teaching tools and techniques. I spent several months learning with Alejandro and totally enjoyed my lessons. Alejandro is a very professional and easygoing teacher. His approach is efficient and helps me in achieving my goals. I also like that Alejandro speaks not only Spanish and English but also German as well which makes our classes even more efficient. I would definitely recommend Alejandro as a teacher.
