Val has taken me from complete beginner to being able to have full conversations in Swahili. She's patient, uses various methods to teach, explains things clearly and somehow has an endless amount of interesting questions to ask, which is great when practicing conversational Swahili. And she is very easy going and open minded. Val hufanya kujifunza kiswahili kufurahisha sana na kila darasa ni nzuri sana. Nimefurahi kuendelea kujifunza Kiswahili na ninafurahi kwamba nimepata mwalimu mzuri wa kunisaidia!

As a professional teacher, I'm amazed by how much I learned in such a short time. Valary was organised, helpful and inspiring. A fantastic teacher - book her before the rest of the world finds out!

This was a really fun lesson and perfect for getting started with Swahili. I learned a lot and wasn't overwhelmed. Val was really nice and had great grammar explanations.

Valary is such an amazing teacher, my lessons with her are always the highlight of my week. She has amazing energy and enthusiasm for teaching, and is always ready with a quick witted explanation for the stranger features of the Swahili language. I'm already gaining confidence in reading and speaking even though I'm usually too lazy to do enough work on my own outside of class. I highly recommend her to anyone who wants to learn Swahili
