Hello! I'm a Japanese teacher living in Fukuoka with my husband and our 9-year-old daughter. I lived in Melbourne, Australia, from 2009 to 2016, which enriched me with a diverse cultural background. I love learning and discussing a wide range of topics including cultures from Japan and other countries, technology, politics, investments, travel, and life. My hobbies include traveling, gaming, collecting miniatures, reading, and visiting shrines. Hello! I obtained my certification as a Japanese teacher in 2009 and taught at a Japanese language school in Melbourne from 2010 to 2016. After returning to Japan in 2016, I started teaching on italki, where I've conducted over 6,800 lessons for more than 300 students. My lessons cover all levels, from beginner to advanced, and are tailored to meet students' needs, including JLPT preparation, travel phrases, and everyday conversation. I use plenty of illustrations and sometimes English to help beginners feel comfortable. I always strive to create a relaxed and enjoyable learning environment with a friendly approach. 【 Beginners are welcomed! 】
I use "Minna no Nihongo" (or "GENKI" for student's requests) and a lot of visual materials for beginners. For intermediate and advanced students, I use textbooks that you want to use , some articles, sometimes youtube videos.
My advice:
1) email me with any questions or ideas
2) book a trial lesson, we can chat about your learning aims and make a plan for you
3) if you like the look of the plan then you can book a package of lessons

In today's lesson we discussed a very difficult topic that involved talking about law and relationships. Yet Yuki sensei taught me how to talk about it using the grammar that I know. She made it seem so easy! I also learned a ton of new words. I really appreciate that she's always correcting me and reminding me to use the grammar that I already know. It helps a lot in drilling the concepts into my head.

It was so good to catch up with Yuki Sensei again after last speaking to her since 2018 when she was my teacher years ago. She is a fantastic teacher and I'm looking forward to many more lessons with her.

Yuki sensei is incredibly warm, relatable, and so easy to talk to about any topic. There’s never a dull class with her. She’s also always so well-prepared with teaching materials as well as conversation points. She’s never just flipping through a PDF/PPT. It’s always interactive and she uses other tools such as note cards and writing things on the whiteboard. Every class touches on grammar, vocabulary, speaking, and listening. She’s great at explaining when you don’t understand something. She truly cares about your progress, not to mention you as a person. She’s great, can’t recommend her enough!

I've been learning Japanese with Yuki Sensei for the past seven months, and I couldn't be happier with my progress! She is an incredibly patient and encouraging tutor who always tailors lessons to my needs. Whether it's grammar, conversation, or cultural insights, Yuki Sensei makes learning both fun and effective.
