Seven years ago, I left the United States to live in the Philippines. I have decided to stay here and make this country my permanent home. I enjoy seeing the sights on my island by motorcycle when I am not in class. I like working in the garden, but my flowers do not seem to appreciate it much. I love animals and have kept some unusual pets. Right now, I have a couple of great dogs, a rabbit, and a flock of pigeons. I have always been interested in other cultures and languages. I love talking to new people and hearing about their experiences, so working as an online teacher is a great fit for me. I have a level 5 TEFL certification and acquired it with a distinction.

Since moving to the Philippines, I have learned how vital it is for some people to learn and use a new language. I need one for my everyday life, and speaking the local language makes my trips to immigration much more pleasant. I appreciate that an intelligent person who has a great vocabulary in their native language may feel frustrated when they struggle to say something in their second language. I understand how lonely it can be when the people around you cannot see your personality because you do not know how to express yourself. In my opinion, most people learn well in a relaxed environment. However, I also feel it can be beneficial to have some structure unless a person has already reached their goals. Because of that, I try to adapt my sessions to the needs of each student. I have lots of material for adults and share it freely with everyone who takes one of my lessons. I do not use puppets or toys in my classes, so children may find my sessions boring. There are many teachers here on iTalki that specialize in teaching children. Unfortunately, I am not one of them. I prefer adult students, and I do not offer recordings of my lessons. Please, do not ask. :)Öğretim materyallerim
