Hi everyone,
My name is Alexandre Applefield-Alvarez.
I was born in Paris, France, but my father is American and my mother is half German and half Cuban. I have a bachelor's degree in Sociology and Education and a Master's in International Public Management. I am trilingual and have lived and worked in French, English, and Spanish-speaking countries, and recently founded my own social enterprise in Colombia. I am passionate about social issues and understanding cultural differences to build a better world.Öğretmen Olarak Ben
I have taught different topics (from science to languages, cooking and basketball) to different populations (children, teenagers, teachers, social workers, entrepreneurs, homeless people...). When I begin teaching to a new student, I make sure to understand their expectations in terms of method, pace, and results. Based on that, we define a plan together. As a general rule, I make sure to give my students a lot of freedom in terms of materials, so that they can read articles, watch videos or listen to audios about topics that they are passionate about. Language is a tool that will expand their world. It is a means, not the ends. My objective is for each student to be able to understand and communicate about what they really care about.
