Hello! My name is TJ. I've been an English teacher for over 4 years with a TEFL-certification through Accredidat. I speak English (US) and Filipino fluently and speak Mandarin Chinese and French at lower intermediate levels. I'm currently learning Korean. I'm from Chicago, USA but now live in the Philippines. I'm excited to meet you all and make new friends :)

I'm TEFL certified, have worked over 4 years in immigrant community based groups in Chicago and have 3 years experience teaching English online to adults and children. I also do individualized preparation for the IELTS, TOEFL, CET-4, and EIKEN exams. I have experience tutoring university students, professionals in the tech, business, design, food and medical industries, artists, people looking to travel, and those planning on moving to English-speaking countries. My lessons are conversational and relaxed. My focus is on helping you to speak clearly and be able to understand other English speakers. I believe everyone has their own unique way of expressing themselves, so it's important that you are comfortable to make mistakes and find your voice :)
We can go in depth with grammar if needed. I can make suggestions and corrections organically throughout our chat. I specialize in conversation, business (Finance/Tech/Education/Trade sectors) meetings, school and job interview coaching and practice. Tj is a good teacher. He can adjust the class contents according to my needs well. I was preparing for PhD interview, and he would take classes based on interview questions and my individual materials. He provided a lot of insights into PhD interviews. He not only directly pointed my problems in pronunciation and grammar but also helped me learn how to talk about myself comfortably, especially during interviews. Besides, he is good at encouraging students, which also helps me a lot.
