Hi, I'm Michelle! I'm from Sydney, Australia. My native language is English, which I speak with a standard Australian accent, and I also speak fluent German.
I am a highly experienced teacher, as I have spent over 25 years teaching mathematics. A few years ago, I completed a linguistics degree and shifted my focus to language teaching and coaching, which is now my main occupation (I teach English and German). I really enjoy helping my students develop confidence in their language abilities. Since I am also a language learner, I have an excellent understanding of the typical challenges students face.

My lessons are most effective for the following types of students:
English lessons:
- Adults with an intermediate or advanced level of English who already have a good general understanding of English grammar, but need to improve their speaking, pronunciation, listening and comprehension skills to become more confident communicating with native English speakers
- Someone who plans to live in or visit Australia OR is a native German speaker
German lessons:
- English speakers in the beginner or intermediate stages of their German learning journey who particularly want to improve their understanding of German grammar

English lessons:
I specialise in helping adults develop the skills they need to successfully interact with native speakers in English. In my professional communication training sessions, I'll teach you how to express yourself easily in clear and authentic English. I also offer English conversation lessons.
German lessons:
I teach German in English for English speakers, using a mixture of story-based text analysis techniques and my own teaching materials. My students find it invaluable to be able to gain insights from a fellow English speaker.

The first lesson with Michelle just ended and I would like to recommend this teacher with all my heart. Michelle is friendly and ready to help you with finding the right word to express your thoughts. She asked some questions about my level and goals in English. At the end of the lesson, I obtained a short review of my skills and some further recommendations. I felt that I was in the hands of a professional :)
I am really happy to find a good teacher to improve my English.

With over 200 hours of lesson time under my belt with Michelle, I can say without a doubt that she's an incredible English teacher. Check my lesson hours with Michelle, and trust me, you won't find a more patient and dedicated teacher. You can book her classes, but don't book too many or there won’t be any time slots for me! (Just kidding, but seriously, she's that good!)
