This is the case when italki pleasantly surprises with the caliber of its teachers!

My professor, Dr Irina, encourages more focused and productive homework. This helps us to be more efficient with the limited time frame of a lesson. She is very supportive and delicate in correcting me, but he quality bar is very high, so no mistakes are slipping away! Again, the course touches on related subjects in history, philology, and other languages, so, as a student, I am getting immersed into a broader cultural context. This is something I would expect from a university level course at Sorbonne.

Every lesson opens new chapters of French culture and history. The grammar and phonetics are taught in the cultural context, which makes it extra fun.

These lessons are paying off immediately. My friends are seeing and praising my progress. With the professor's careful guidance, I understand what to focus on and how to become more productive with my studies. Plus, I am learning extras about linguistics, e.g., synthetic vs. analytical languages. The joy of learning! La joie d'apprendre!

A happy student here. Uncovering so much depth in seemingly simple topics! The course is well paced: its complexity increases, but not too fast. The lessons are entertaining, informative, and useful. The teaching bar is high -- the target is at the university or grad school level - but fundamentals are very accessible. My professor speaks multiple languages (so do I) and leverages them to give powerful and efficient examples and explanations. Can't be happier!

So much depth and so many nuances I would have overlooked without Dr. Irina's help! Can't be happier, even the course requires homework on my side :)
