My name is Dr. Hannah Stevens and I am a writer with a PhD in English and creative writing. I have taught around the world in universities and worked with organisations including the BBC, the British Embassy and Greenpeace.
My second book ON THE BODIES OF STRANGERS will be published in 2025. My first book IN THEIR ABSENCE was released in 2021 and has been translated in to a Bulgarian edition.

I’m very friendly and approachable. I love discussing a wide range of subjects, exploring interesting things and learning together. I enjoy meeting new students and building genuine friendships. I enjoy teaching, writing, reading, travelling and connecting with new people from different cultures.

I teach students through free-talk style lessons.
We can explore your interests through discussion, reading and researching materials in English. We can look at news, short stories, poetry, creative nonfiction essays, music and more! This will help you to build wide ranging and complex vocabulary whilst focusing on interesting and broad subjects.

Excellent! We talked about the chapter of Midnight’s children called ‘wedding’ . We are surprised to find that there are only three chapters left. It has been a long journey. Incredible!

Brilliant, we talked about the last part of the chapter :’the shadow of the mosque’ of midnight’s children by Salman Rushdie. The protagonist Saleem was in magician’s ghetto in old Delhi. Gosh, There are only three chapters left！

Brilliant, we talked about the chapter of “wedding” of the midnight’s children. In this chapter, Rushdie revealed the answers to many foreshadowings he put in the previous chapters. Fascinating!

Brilliant. We talked about the second part of Sam and Tiger of Midnight’s Children. The protagonist remembers his own name after the long journey from Pakistan to India through Bangladesh. Great fun. Thanks.
