Hi I'm Susanna and I am from Bristol in the south west of England, but I’m now living in the north of England, in a city called Newcastle. I have 3 children and my hobbies are reading, swimming, learning languages and travelling. I’ve been teaching English for 3 years, and I love it! I love talking about my country and my language. I studied languages and linguistics at university and I can speak French, Spanish, German and Portuguese. I have a CELTA qualification and I’ve taught in colleges, in private language schools and online, and have done a lot of one-to-one teaching.

I love the English language, and I love sharing this love with other people. , I love teaching it and my lessons are engaging, varied and interesting. I enjoy teaching all levels, and vary my teaching style according to my students. I can teach both adults and children. My experience in learning different languages means I understand a lot of the challenges of learning a language, so can help you! I have taught students from all over the world and love learning about new places and cultures from my students.

My lessons are varied and interesting, using different resources and activities to help you to learn. I can plan lessons on about different topics including grammar, vocabulary, British culture, or we can have a conversation or work through a coursebook. I’m happy to plan the lesson, or teach a lesson on a subject of your choice! I'm always happy to answer questions or help you with something you find difficult.

Some of this work has been online, and some in person. I have taught both adults and children.

ESOL LecturerNewcastle College - Newcastle, Birleşik KrallıkFor 6 months I taught ESOL at Newcastle College, helping my students to improve their English language skills to work towards the Skills for Life qualifications and also to help them to learn the English they needed for their everyday life in the UK. Initially this teaching was in person, but then due to the pandemic we moved to online teaching. This experience helped me to understand the importance of tailoring my lessons towards the needs of my students.

My daughter felt comfortable being with her and she enjoyed the class. The teacher asked questions a lot and tried to dig them as well. When my daughter couldn't answer the questions, she gave examples for her. We both were pleased to meet her and hope to see her again.
