Hello everyone. Recently I was looking through articles that explain Spanish tenses and noticed that there are so many options to choose from. When I was learning English it wasn't as bad but it still got me thinking about tenses and frequency of using them. I noticed that I had never used future perfect even though I went over it once. I do not see it in the books I read and I almost never hear people use it.
How is it for you native speakers? How often do you use it?
I definitely use it, but I can say that because I can recognise it and am aware that I use it.
Do other native English speakers use it? Of course! Would they be able to analyse it grammatically? Well maybe, maybe not. We use these forms out of habit; only a few of us actually go to the trouble of getting into the mechanics of grammar.
If you avoid using future perfect when you need to use it... yes, we notice. ;)
