"Khabar" or "kabar" which is appropriate? Pronunciation? Indonesian or Malaysian?

I have found "kabar" today. Instantly, I recognised that it is another spelling of "khabar".

I know "khabar" is a loanword from Arabic, but 3 questions occurred to me that

1:Which is appropriate? Does it depend on the situation?

2:How should I pronounce? Pronounce literally /k/ or /x/ like Arabic?

3:Where are they used in? Indonesia or Malaysia?

Finally, this post plays a role as writing practice of English,so if you find my mistakes or unnatural grammar, please let me know.

I would be grateful for your help.

こんにちは、持田慧さん

I'm an Indonesian, here are the answer to your questions:
(1) Kabar is the standard word, while khabar is a non standard one.
(2) You can pronounce kabar as the 'k' in kabuki.
(3) Kabar is used in Indonesia, while khabar is used in Malaysia.

I hope they help. If you have any further question, don't hesitate to inquire. I'll be glad to help you.

Hello Kei,

Wikipedia has a basic comparison of Malay and Indonesian that you might find useful: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_Standard_Malay_and_Indonesian#Vocabulary_differences

correct, Kabar is the standard one, however, it's also not a big del if you happen to use khabar in your writing. Only that people would think that you are rather old fashioned, perhaps you were born before 70s.
