Should Physical Education be required or optional in schools?
In my opinion, Physical Education is one of the most important disciplines during childhood. It must (/It should) be required in school to better develop students in several areas overall; such as physically, mentally and socially.
Exercise helps students achieve a better performance in tasks. Even though the students are in good shape, exercise may help them to be healthier than a sedentary (/an inactive) person. Obviously, exercise alone is not enough, it must be followed by a good alimentation oriented by a specialist { I have underlined this because I am not quite sure what you mean by this. Maybe it is correct but I am not versed on this subject.} and also a frequent good nights of sleep.
Moreover, Physical Education may develop motor intelligence which is directly associated with body coordination. This will help with dancing, practicing sports, and many other social activities. Also, it may help them to get focused on what is needed to achieve goals and making fast decisions.
In addition, it is a discipline that teaches better social interations, respecting the other ones limitations (/setting proper boundaries) and on the other hand being more competitive. Also, if Physical Education is an education requirement, students learn from the beginning (/initially) how to respect the space of someone else.
In conclusion, as students are usually not mature enough to consider these three points, [which were mentioned above] {Honestly, you could add this, but it is not needed.}, physical education must be not optional in schools. Some students do not like any kind of exercise because they are not sportive (/athletic), but they must try to break these walls (/barriers).
